I don't use it as the Razer Blackwidow Ultimate 2013 is too amazing to switch from. I have a $120 paperweight on my desk which is the Orbweaver. I wouldn't recommend it, however I am not playing on a couch I am on a desk. Just to throw the kernal of honesty in here. Amazing little keyboard in a tiny size - great for couch gaming since when you don't need it, it barely takes any space at all and when you do (chatting, etc.) it feels just like a full-size keyboard (after you get used to the smaller form factor of course). The ring click button (ring finger mouse button) is great for dodging. My arm is at rest when its in use, no accuracy lost. Right cushion - G600 mouse, surprisingly works well. Ultimately I didn't end up doing this as I wanted to bind those keys to something else, but I could see myself using it naturally. When I was playing around with dodge buttons, the thumbstick was pretty fun in this regard as I could just tap the thumbstick in the direction I wanted to dodge.

However depending on your couch this may not work, and if you have smaller hands the G13 may not be as comfortable as the Orbweaver. Left Armrest - G13 is big and has a wide base, so it sits nicely and securely. I have a similar setup, I game on the couch with a projector. The rest of the binds are just QOL shortcuts to things like inventory, mount and a keybind for toggling deadlock. The redundancy is so I can use either hand to kill something if I'm, say, drinking a beer at the same time. I also use Deadlock to bind the camera to my house and bound my #1 ability to my extra thumb button on my mouse. I can fire them just with a flick of my thumb, but I don't use them enough to dedicate the buttons closer to my 'home' position. The general idea of my setup is having my 'quick fire' abilities on the joystick, like Zap or Activate on Deflect/Crit abilities.

LAS 5, 6, 7 and 8 bound to the 4 joystick directions.ĭodge bound to one of the buttons around the joystick, loot vacuum to the other. LAS keys 1, 2, 3 and 4 bound to G2, 3, 5 and 6. W, S, Q and E bound to the middle keys (G2, 5, 6 and 7). I can post my setup when I get home, if OP or anyone else cares, but the meat of it is this: Reaching for anything on LAS 4 or higher is a bit much for me on a standard keyboard. It's far more comfortable, IMO, and improves your access to skills. My healer friend is thinking of getting it because of me. I use a G13 as well and I second your recommendation. Is using a keypad to preform these functions just as optimal? Does it feel as natural and is it as quick and easy as holding shift or double-tapping W? My biggest worries are things like binding a button for sprinting, or having to find a replacement for the dash double-tap. So I started considering picking up something like the Razer Orbweaver.īefore I drop the ~$120 to pick it up though, I wanted to hear from those of you who play with one and find out what it's like playing WildStar with it. Compared to my performance back when I played WoW (and played with a keyboard and mouse at a proper desk instead of slouched on a couch), I find my hands often blundering around the keyboard when things get most intense (usually dungeons or BGs), hitting wrong keys and crap like that. However, I'm finding that it's certainly not the most optimal setup for WildStar, and I can very easily tell that it's because of the relatively awkward setup I'm using.

I've got my gaming rig hooked up to my living room TV and play games (including WildStar) from my couch with a typical keyboard and mouse (or XBox controller, if it works better for the game).įor most games, this has been perfectly fine. EDIT: Thanks to all of the great advice here, I've gone ahead and ordered a Logitech G13.
